GREG RITCHIE – “FAT CAT”
Affectionately known as “Fat Cat” thanks to his famously burly build, Greg Ritchie is one of Australian cricket’s great characters, with a personality every bit as memorable as his sporting career.
Ritchie represented Australia in 30 Test matches and 44 One Day Internationals between 1982 and 1987, while also enjoying an outstanding career with Queensland from 1980 to 1992. Across his first-class career, he amassed an impressive 10,170 runs, including 24 centuries and 54 half-centuries, cementing his place among Queensland cricket’s finest.
But life after cricket proved just as entertaining!
Greg went on to make his mark in radio, television and comedy, becoming well known for his quick wit, colourful characters and ability to get a room laughing.
Today, “Fat Cat” continues to entertain audiences with hilarious stories from his years in cricket and beyond. With plenty of mischief, good-natured banter and a healthy ability to laugh at himself, Greg takes audiences behind the scenes and shares the moments you definitely won’t find in the record books.
